For a movie buff, we could show clips of her favorite films on our flat-screen TVs, serve popcorn and give guests customized Oscar statuettes as mementos. If he was an admirer of antique automobiles, we can fill our ample parking lot with classic cars and serve his favorite roadside snacks. Chapels to suit your needs

Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South is a spacious and versatile facility, and we are equipped to handle all types of funeral services. Whether you want an intimate gathering or a large extravaganza, we have an event space that can fit your needs.

The funeral home has 4 chapels; the cemetery has an outdoor mausoleum pergola.

The largest chapel, Chapel A, holds 100 people and has a separate foyer that is perfect for families desiring privacy before, during or after a service. Chapels B, D and E each hold 25 to 50 guests comfortably. All of our chapels have flexible seating and flat-screen televisions.

If you'd prefer an outdoor committal service, the mausoleum pergola sits on the shore of a pond and is perfectly picturesque for a group of up to 50 people.

You are always welcome to host a catered reception in our lounge. We’ll take care of the food and drinks so you can spend your time with family and friends.

Woodlawn Park Cemetery South

Woodlawn Park Cemetery South encompasses 62 acres of carefully manicured gardens. Partially situated on a nature preserve, the cemetery has a pond with koi fish and turtles, and is a designated bird sanctuary populated with feathered friends and other wildlife. In addition to its natural beauty, the cemetery has dignified monuments and statues, a veterans section and memorial and an east-facing section designed for Muslim and Chinese families.

All in all, Woodlawn Park Cemetery South is a premier final resting place for Miami-area families.

Many burial choices

Every family has different burial needs, and at Woodlawn Park Cemetery South, we offer a wide variety of options for permanent resting places. For traditional in-ground burial, property choices include upright monuments, flat markers, private individual or family estates and customized memorials. If you prefer above-ground burial, we offer crypt spaces in a community mausoleums. We can also custom-build a private mausoleum for you and your family if that better suits your needs. We also have several cremation gardens and many cremation memorialization options, including niches, columbaria and benches.

Involved in the Miami community

Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South and Woodlawn Park Cemetery South are involved in the Miami community. We host a yearly Mother’s Day event with a balloon release, a holiday remembrance service in November and a Memorial Day program with local Boy Scouts and a color guard. We also work alongside area police to help prevent drunk driving and domestic violence. Our children's bereavement program is open to any family seeking help for a grieving child.

We serve veterans and military families

Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South is honored to serve our nation’s military. The funeral home team works with all branches of the U.S. armed forces to provide funerals with full military honors. Woodlawn Park Cemetery South participates in the Homeless Veterans Burial program, designed to ensure that all members of the military have a proper burial, regardless of their financial situations. The cemetery also has a section dedicated to veterans and military families and a veterans memorial.

Memorial for victims of the ValuJet Flight 592 crash

On May 11, 1996, ValuJet Flight 592 dove nose-first into the Everglades with 110 people onboard. No one survived. The DC-9 aircraft took off from Miami International Airport and was headed for Atlanta. In July of that year, the remains of the victims who could not be identified were buried together at Woodlawn Park Cemetery South, and a memorial service was held for all 110 victims.

In remembrance of the people who lost their lives in the accident, a black granite memorial reads: “This monument is dedicated to the memory of those who perished in the Florida Everglades air tragedy of Flight 592 on May 11, 1996.” It is engraved with the names of the 110 victims.
